You Gotta Stop to Listen.

Jun 11, 2015 , , 0 Comments

If you’re running around so busy all the time, it’s hard to be in touch with your intuition.

You gotta stop to…LISTEN.

Even if you just sit for a few moments to take a deep breath or two, this counts as a meditation of sorts.

Spirit or Source or your guides or angels…whatever terms you use…cannot reach you if you’re always busy on your smartphone.

Why not try plugging into the universe or spirit?

Unplug for a few hours from texts, emails, the internet, or watching movies or shows…

Try it…it could be one of the most “punk rock” things you will ever do.

Blessings and love,

Why You Don’t Have Limitations on Your Intuition

Sep 29, 2014 , , , , , , 0 Comments

Some kind souls recently have wrote me publicly and privately asking for guidance about their intuition. I love answering questions on this topic, not that I come close to having all the answers.

These lovely people wrote things in their emails or messages that made me wanna give them a hug. (I’m a hugger.)

Some said, “I’m too old to start developing my psychic abilities.”

Hey, age is just a number. I’ll bet you were psychic as a kid. You still can do this. You got this.

Others mentioned not being able to sit and meditate.

Being able to meditate isn’t required to be more intuitive. Yes, it helps, but it’s not the only way to access spirit and quiet your mind.

A few sweethearts argued that they don’t have time to develop intuition.

There’s always small increments of time at traffic lights or in line to steal. Maybe you can start to play intuition games and try to guess where you’ll find a parking spot? Maybe you will feel a strong knowing about which pair of jeans to buy? These count! Intuition is actually a very practical thing that we can use in our every day lives.

One or two folks mentioned that they have tried for years to be more psychic and have failed.

Oh, honeys, I relate! I’m working my tail off on guitar right now. Anything worthwhile will require practice. You’re not a failure. Don’t give up.

I’m not trying to single out anyone in this post. Rather, I’m trying to help you stop arguing for your limitations. You can do this!

I’m cheering you on and sending you lots and lots of love and good vibes.

How to Get Spiritual Messages from Music

It has been said that music is the language of the soul.  As a psychic and musician, I couldn’t agree more.  If you read my previous blog post, The 4 Psychic Powers, you will remember the term clairaudience, which means clear-hearing.  (You can read this post here:  http://punkrockpsychic.com/uncategorized/the-4-psychic-powers/)  Clairaudience is a form of psychic ability which involves the physical sense of hearing.  However, you might hear messages from spirit that sound like they are from the sound of your own voice.  (No, it’s not the same as hearing voices, as in the psychological disorder!)  As I mentioned in my prior blog post, if you tend to be an auditory sort of person in your daily life, you might find that your intuition comes from messages that you hear.

Some of the messages you might hear are things you overhear in others’ conversations–not that I’m advocating eavesdropping.  It the type of thing that you just happen to hear, without a lot of effort.  Or, you might hear something on the television or on the radio.

I myself started to get a variety of messages from music, whether it was music I heard on the radio or shuffling on my mp3 player.  I started to smile as the radio became my accidental divination tool, much like an oracle deck is for some.  I would flip through the stations and something about a song would stick out.  I would hear a word, phrase, or series of notes that keyed my intuition brain into thinking or feeling something.  Remember, your intuition comes via your thoughts and feelings. Other times, I would hear a song  that was a favorite of a deceased loved ones.  For example, my late grandma sometimes sends me songs that she enjoyed or songs that we both enjoyed together.  It’s her way of sending me a loving, shout-out.  So, music is a way to get mediumship messages for yourself too.

I also have experimented with putting my mp3 player on shuffle, asking my divine team of guides and angels to send me messages.  I’ve had profound results using this method.  Try it out and let me know how it goes for you.  You might be wondering how you’ll get messages.  Well, it works differently for everyone.  This method might not work for you, but I say, try it.

I only can speak about the results that I’ve achieved with using music as a spiritual tool.  I’ll give some more examples.  I have asked the divine at times for a sign that things would be okay.  Soon after, I’ll just happen to hear a song that always inspires me.  It feels like a big hug sent from the divine.  Or, I’ll hear a song that has a line in it that gives me the chills.  These chills are a recognition that some word or concept is about me, and it’s trying to get my attention.  I always have loved the music of Bob Dylan.  In one of his songs, I heard the word revolution and it gave me the chills. I’m a very revolutionary sort of person.  If you know about astrology, let’s say that I have the planet Uranus prominently in my chart (often, that planet is considered revolutionary).  It was confirmation that my soul is on the right path for me.  At least, it felt like that way to me during the time I had this come through for me.  I felt I needed to be reminded about my true identity.

Yes, the divine likes to give us a boost now and then of inspiration.  I have used music as a way to connect to my inner muse too.  I’ve sometimes felt stuck in my writing or guitar playing, and I’ll put on my mp3 player, asking for guidance about where to go next in my creative work.  Sometimes, I’ve heard a song that just brings me back to who I was when I was 16 years old.  That will make me smile.  I’ll think of how I’m so similar to how I was back then, but it some ways, I’m so different.  I’ll start to think about something that happened back then and it will give me some emotions and feelings that I can use in my creative work.  This example is just one of many ways I’ve used music to blast past creative blocks.

I also enjoy using music in meditation.  I’ll pick some relaxing music to just do a free-form of meditation.  I allow it to take me places in my mind, allowing my spirit to show me some messages.  I also enjoy guided meditations of others that are set to music.  These really are uplifting, and I find them helpful when I have times when I can’t do my own meditations due to being tired or lacking focus.

Really, there is an unlimited amount of ways in which you can use music to get messages from spirit.  Use your creativity and have fun with it!  Let me know what you think.  Have you ever had experiences like these?  If not, do you want to have them?  Feel free to share here!

Thanks and blessings,

The 4 Psychic Powers

Apr 18, 2011 , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , 10 Comments

(Photo Credit: vpickering, Flickr, Creative Commons License)

If you’ve been following my blog or my work for a while, you know that I’m all about embracing the real you, especially your intuition.  I truly believe that everyone is intuitive or psychic, if you prefer.  It’s just whether you use your intuition that matters.  Some are too busy or uninterested to work on listening to or developing their intuition.  Or, some are nervous or even afraid about it.  Chances are, you have had things happen to you such as gut feelings or even known when someone is calling, without having to look at your caller identification feature.

A big part of my life mission as a psychic is to not only demystify the psychic world, but also, to help you to embrace your intuition.  I see intuition as a practical thing that helps you to make decisions and become more of your true self.  It is not magical or mystical.  I actually used the term “powers” in this blog post’s title a bit tongue-in-cheek.  I have a silly sense of humor.  I also am pretty modest.  (I hope that I seem that way, at least!)  So, I actually don’t see myself as being special or unique.  I just have made a choice to use intuition in my life.  Everyone has the power right now.

So, before I digress further, here are the 4 Psychic Powers.  All of these are the psychic counterparts to your physical senses.  So, if you tend to be a visual person, you might resonate with clairvoyance.  The pre-fix “clair” means clear, just for reference.  Often, many people have a combination of these four.

1) Clairvoyance (clear-seeing).  You get intuitive insights via visual cues in the physical world such as number sequences, words on signs, animal sitings, or anything else meaningful to you.  Or, you see things in your mind’s eye during daily life or in meditations, dreams, and spiritual practices.  You tend to be drawn to colors, artwork, pretty stuff, and might consider yourself a visual learner.

Spirit gets our attention in subtle ways, but sometimes with a sense of humor.  I once asked for a sign about if I’d ever move to California.  Well, the next day watching “The Today Show,” someone was holding a sign that simply said, “California.”  I heard my guides loving say, “Is this what you meant?”  (Hey, you get what you ask for!)

2) Clairaudience (clear hearing).  You hear voices.  (Please, this is not a psychological disorder, by the way!)  But, you’ll hear messages that almost sound like your own voice.  Or, you might actually hear a voice or word(s) that sound different.  It’s in the mind mostly though, similar to how in clairvoyance, you will see images in your mind’s eye.  I guess you might say it’s like your mind’s ear with clairaudience.

I notice I will hear songs on the radio or conversations in public that have messages for me. I tend to be an auditory person as a musician especially, so this makes sense for me.  You might find that you are tuned into the finer frequencies with this clair.

3) Claircognizance (clear knowing).  You know things without knowing how you know them.  Intuitive insights come to you via your thoughts.  Often, these insights will come out of the blue.  It will feel too simple at first, but please know that spirit works in simple ways.

Actually, intuition works via your thoughts and feelings, so since you’re always feeling and thinking, you are always able to plug into your intuition.  Some claim that the great scientific discoveries of modern times came to the scientists via claircognizance.  The formulae or solutions came just out of the blue when they weren’t working on their stuff.

Intuition comes more easily when you’re relaxed, by the way.

4) Clairsentience (clear feeling).  You feel things in your own body.  You might have gut feelings about a situation or person.  You feel others’ emotions and feelings (sometimes this is called being an emotional empath).  You might even feel their pain, whether it is emotional, mental, physical, or spiritual.

When you walk into a room, you can tell if there has been an argument or something else is off about the situation.  When you meet someone, you get feelings about whether they are a good person or not.  You are very tuned into the heart and compassion aspects of life.

When you love, you do it with your entire being.  In arguments or tense situations, you might feel not only your emotions and feelings, but you will feel others’ stuff too.  It can be overwhelming, so it requires knowing how to manage energies and take care of yourself.

At times, those with pronounced clairsentience become dumping grounds for others’ baggage.  You might gain weight unintentionally to protect yourself.  You might be everyone’s free counselor, but you need support too, so don’t be shy about getting it for yourself.

Well, those are the 4 Psychic Powers in a nutshell.  I gave only brief descriptions ’cause I’m a simple sort of gal.  If you want to know more about all of this, be sure to check out my freebie Mini Course, “How to Be More Psychic” that you get as a gift for signing up for my monthly email newsletter.

You’ve got the power!

Blessings and gratitude,

5 Good Questions to Ask in a Psychic Reading

Oct 18, 2010 , , , , , , , , , , , , , , 12 Comments

(Questions? Photo by Pieter Musterd, Flickr, Creative Commons License)

Questions always have felt very important in my life.  As someone who is punk rock, I’ve always believe in questioning everything.  Also, whenever I’m researching, thinking, or meditating, I work on creating effective questions.

Effective questions help you to get the information that is most pertinent or useful.  This applies to most any situation in life, whether you are talking to the divine (your guides, angels, and helpers), family, friends, clients, salespeople, romantic partners, bosses, or anyone else in your world.

In my work as a psychic, I find that the quality of questions affects the quality of information that is relayed in readings from the divine helpers.  Sometimes though, the questions spoken aloud do not get answered right away.  The question of the heart that is unspoken might come through more strongly.  For example, in a reading, you might ask about your career, but secretly you would like to know about your love relationship.  The information that comes through will more than likely be about love.  Even the oracle cards (if I use them) will show that you’re really desiring to know about love.  (Note:  I always do address your questions asked aloud, however, not just what comes through in the reading).

Divine guidance works much like every day matters.  If you asked someone for directions without saying where you were heading, you would not get any helpful information.  It’s good to be specific.  General questions are okay, but please remember, you will get general guidance from the divine as a result.

I compiled this list of 5  Good Questions to Ask in a Psychic Reading for you to ponder and utilize:

1.  What does the divine want me to know about the most?

This question is an excellent way to uncover what the divine has been trying to get your attention with for a very long time.  You’re human, so perhaps, you’ve been too busy to notice the subtle (or, not-so-subtle) messages that they’ve been trying to get to you.  The divine is just waiting to tell you the goods, but you have to ask.

This question is a good ice-breaker in psychic readings.  It is a great question if you are not sure what to ask at first.  Sometimes, you might know that you need a psychic reading, but you’re not sure what to ask.  It’s okay to be a little unclear, but usually, starting with this question will open your heart up a bit to feel comfortable in asking the burning questions during your reading.

2.  What are my major blocks, and how can I move forward more easily?

The divine loves action.  The divine favors the bold.  The divine favors those who do, not just talk about their dreams.  Chances are, you already know that you have blocks.  These don’t have to be permanent.  If you ask this question, the guidance will help you to get unstuck.  The guidance will be rather simple-sounding, but that’s how the divine usually works.  The divine likes our lives to be simplified.  Problems, obstacles, or challenges, whatever you want to call them, usually have simple answers.  Usually, too, you know the answers.  Readings help you to remember your answers!

3.  How can I live more of my life purpose?

When you’re living your life purpose, life feels happier.  Things flow to you more easily and effortlessly. You might be thinking, “Yeah, that’s great, Lisa, but I don’t know my life purpose!”  Well, I think you do know!

It’s that dream of yours that you can’t escape.  You think about it.  It’s there when you wake up in the morning, and it’s there before you fall asleep at night.  It speaks to you in quiet ways, and then, louder and louder until you just can’t ignore it.

Yeah, that one!

It might not be something you earn money at (yet), but you have to do it.  The divine will ask you to take small, baby steps each day towards realizing your dreams.  These 1-3 steps will come through in your reading.  Want to know them?  Just ask about them in your reading!

4.  How can I be more intuitive or psychic?

Great question!  I love this question because it means that you get it–everyone is intuitive!

It’s just a choice as to whether to live by the guidance you receive.  Often times, people protest when I tell them that they are intuitive.  Well, you ARE intuitive.  Chances are, you just don’t follow your gut instincts, your knowing, what you hear or see, or what feels right for you.  You’ve ignored your intuition.  Welcome to being human!  Even as a psychic, I have ignored my own intuition.  The thing is that you can get better each day at listening to your intuition.  It just takes practice.

If you ask me in a reading about how you can be more intuitive, I’ll tell you how your intuition comes through specifically for you.  This will get you started on the journey of honoring and trusting it.  It’s really your work, but I can get you started.  That way, you don’t have to rely on a psychic for the rest of your life.  Or, maybe, you just talk to me when you really need help or feel stuck.  (I never ever want to foster a dependence on me, by the way!)

5.  What do I need to be doing in order to be living to my full potential?

This question opens the door for you to receive very powerful guidance about how to stop holding yourself back in life.  You will hear some things that might evoke difficult emotions or feelings, but that’s because you know in your heart what you need to do in order to move forward.  The divine always says that you have within you everything that you need in order to be, do, and have all that you desire.

It just takes getting reminded gently about what needs to be done on your end. The divine is ready to help you.  You can’t get from New York to Los Angeles in one day driving.  But, if you fly on an airplane, it’s much quicker.  It’s similar with asking the divine for guidance.  The learning curve can be shortened.  As a psychic, I love helping you to shorten the learning curve.  I love inspiring your “a-ha” moments.  This helps to serve you (in my humble opinion) more than telling you how to win the lottery.

I’ll be writing about more good questions to ask in a psychic reading very soon.  These are just a starting point.  As a psychic, I don’t like to play around with “dumb questions.”  I’ve written about this in the past, if you would like to read about the types of readings that I don’t do:

As I finish up this post, I’m curious to know what types of questions do you ask in a psychic reading?  Please feel free to share here by commenting.

Thanks and blessings,
