“Punk Rock Psychic?!” you may be wondering…
No, you’re not reading this incorrectly. I’m here to bridge the punk rock edge with the psychic world.
I’ve been psychic all of my life, although I’ve only been a professional psychic since 2005. (When I say “professional,” I mean, I get paid to give readings. I gave readings unpaid to others for many years). I’ve been punk rock since I knew about it, circa 1985.
In 2010, I decided to combine the psychic and the punk in order to more authentically represent myself on-line. I created this website, punkrockpsychic.com to bridge these aspects of my being.
In the five years I’ve practiced as a psychic, I’ve encountered many stereotypes about my field. I honestly admit that I did somewhat try to fit in as best as I could in my field–for about 5 minutes. Soon, I found myself not particularly enjoying sporting flowy skirts at local psychic fairs. I became tired of people expecting me to tote a crystal ball. And, although I’ve been a student of metaphysics and spirituality for many years, I find some of the material to be quite airy fairy woo-woo. (Some airy fairy woo-woo is okay, but I prefer things that are practical and helpful for my clients and well, for myself too!) I have my own take on spiritual subjects and you’ll hear more about it in later blog posts.
Speaking of airy fairy woo woo concepts, I’m sure you’ve heard of the law of attraction. The law of attraction is one of the many universal laws that explain some of why things happen. Many spiritual teachers say that you attract what you think about. Yes, I believe that this is true. I also believe it is true that you attract who you are. Just by showing up as you, I really believe you’ll attract like-minded and like-energy people. I thought of this as I planned my new website here. I thought it would make more sense for me to show up as the real me in my web presence in order to attract the people I resonate with most. Even in my days of doing psychic fairs all dressed up as a typical, flowy skirt wearing psychic, I still attracted unconventional, nonconforming folks. For me, it was the law of attraction in action, getting my attention.
Usually the people you resonate with most are the ones you’re meant to be of service to in your career and life purpose. I’m here on the planet to be of service to the rebels and misfits of the world. I desire to help you to live authentically, create success on your terms, and get guidance to move you forward towards your destiny and heart’s desires.
I’m also here to help dispel the myths and stereotypes about the psychic world. I also am a practical mystic that desires to bring you down-to-earth information for your own spiritual path. I always encourage you to only take what resonates with you and toss aside the rest, deferring to your own inner truth. For me, it’s pretty punk rock to carve out your own spiritual path and it’s enjoyable for me to assist others in doing similar.
I look forward to getting to know you. I’m open to feedback when it comes to products, services, and blog posts. Let me know what you would like to see and about your needs. This helps me to be of service to you in the best possible way.
Blessings,
Lisa
